A Classy, Romantic Wedding at Inn at Mount Vernon Farm in Sperryville, Virginia
Heather Lindenman (32) and Jonathan Mitchell (35) bonded over their mutual love of hiking, cycling and the great outdoors. It was only fitting that, two and half years into their relationship, Jon proposed to Heather during one of their weekend excursions to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. At mile 57 of a 65 mile bike ride, Jon pulled over into a soybean field, retrieved a ring from his jersey and popped the question. With the help of Julie Lindenman, Heather's sister and an event producer at Colin Cowie Celebrations, Heather and Jon planned a classy and romantic spring wedding at the rustic Inn at Mount Vernon Farm in Sperryville, Virginia. They chose this location because of its proximity to Old Rag Mountain, one of the couple's favorite hiking spots. Their wedding's color palette was orchid, lilac and deep purple with white and green accents. Although their plans for an outdoor ceremony were washed away by the rain, Heather and Jon had a beautiful and intimate ceremony indoors with readings of excerpts from their favorite literary works, a ceremonial glass breaking and a reenactment of their email correspondences. The breathtaking barn reception was illuminated by beautiful bistro lighting and candelabra chandeliers. Tables were arranged with gold chiavari chairs, lace table runners and glass vase centerpieces of greens and white flowers. "We wanted the floral arrangements and the table settings to feel natural and earthy," says Heather. Heather and Jon's stunning wedding is truly one for the books.
