A Classy, Romantic Wedding at Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Katie Caulfield (29, therapist) and Mike Gentile (29, accountant) didn’t realize their first date was actually a date at the time. They were just two college friends that had recently reconnected attending a Christmas party together. Date or not, they had a great time and wondered why they hadn’t considered dating before. Three years later, Mike proposed to Katie during an intimate moment between the two of them, after which they celebrated with friends and family for three days. The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Peter and Paul was the obvious choice for the pair since they had attended the church before and appreciated its beauty. The Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia hosted their reception. Mike and Katie didn’t want to be too trendy, so they chose a soft color palette of grays, white and purple accents. “I liked the idea of having neutral colors and then accenting with beautiful, colorful flowers,” says Katie. These lovely flowers included hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, tulips, … Wedding fashions included the bridesmaids in pale gray Ann Taylor dresses in different styles with purple bouquets. Mike wore a traditional black tuxedo and a lavender rose and silver brunia boutonniere. Katie wore a simple Watters ball gown with a flowy skirt and train and a strapless, sweetheart neckline, which she paired with a cathedral veil. The elegant reception was decorated with silver linens, antique vases and abundant floral arrangements. As a surprise for his sister, Katie's brother made masks of the newlyweds' faces to wear on the dance floor. "It was hilarious and a little bit creepy," says Katie. The night ended with cake, mini ice cream cone desserts and dancing with live music provided by CTO Tribeca. By keeping things simple, Mike and Katie had a classy and romantic downtown Philadelphia wedding.
