A Classy, Minimalist Wedding at Historic Tredegar in Richmond, Virginia

Alexandria Brown (27 and a cancer center coordinator) and Jonathan Ashe (26 and a teaching assistant at a school for autism) met while moving into their dorms during their freshman year at the University of Richmond. Alexandria asked Jon for directions to her dorm. He fumbled the directions and she said something acerbic, so the next time Alexandria ran into Jon he ignored her. "Eventually I grew frustrated that this attractive guy wouldn't talk to me, so I went out of my way to make him notice me," says Alexandria. Whatever she did worked in her favor, and the couple dated for seven years and had a beautiful baby girl together. Jon proposed to Alexandria by having their daughter, Noah, present her with a ring box. With the help of Lovebirds Events, the couple had an intimate, classy wedding in white, mint and burgundy at Historic Tredegar in Richmond. The ceremony was held outdoors at the Civil War Center in Historic Tredegar, a private museum with ruins from the Civil War. String lights decorated the old tree under which they said their vows, and leaves were scattered across the aisle. The tented reception also had string lights to illuminate the farmhouse tables that were covered in mint tablecloths, gold runners and minimalist lantern centerpieces. Alexandria and Jon's fashionable wedding party dressed in black tuxedos and mint dresses with fur stoles. Guests were treated to yummy bites from local food trucks, including red velvet, cinnamon sugar and maple bacon donuts from Sugar Shack Donuts as dessert. Alexandria and Jon's stunning, minimalist wedding was heartwarming and intimate.
