A Classy, Elegant Wedding at the George Peabody Library in Baltimore, Maryland

Sam Aronson (29, university dean) and George Cooper (29, computer programmer) met at Union Station in Washington, D.C. in the fall of 2006. They dated and cohabited for six years before getting engaged. Sam proposed to George at the University of Pennsylvania Club in New York, with champagne and in front of the fireplace which his friend had decorated with candles. Instead of an engagement ring, he gave George a Rolex Cellini watch. Sam and George held both their ceremony and reception at the stunning George Peabody Library at Johns Hopkins’ campus on Valentine's Day. They had a Jewish ceremony officiated by a New York State Supreme Court Justice and they performed the tradition of the breaking of the glass. The ceremony also featured a performance by the Maryland State Boychoir, an organization that George sang with as a child. Their reception was beautifully illuminated by Event Dynamics and featured gold tablecloths and gold chiavari chairs. The centerpieces were were open books, to match with the library setting. Table numbers were indicated by small flags on every table. The night ended with dancing and a four tier wedding cake decorated with black dots, black ribbon and the newlyweds’ monogram. Sam and George’s library wedding was a classy and stunning affair.
