A Classy Desert-Inspired Wedding at Spencer's Restaurant in Palm Springs, California

Through green succulents, semiformal attire and an indoor-outdoor venue decorated in a color palette of silver, green and white, this desert-themed wedding day was no sweat. Jack Haynie (45 and a Hewlett-Packard executive) and Mike Ai (30 and a government-relations adviser) had their casual yet elegant wedding at Spencer’s Restaurant in Palm Springs, California. At the outdoor ceremony on the lawn, with a backdrop of the San Jacinto Mountains, the aisle was simply lined with white petals leading to the altar where Matthew David Studio captured the couple sharing their first kiss. The cocktail hour was held around the venue’s pool, where guests were being served a specialty cocktail called “Haynai,” after Jack and Mike’s last names combined into one. “After guests settled, Jack and I were announced as newlyweds for the first time, and we descended the stone staircase to greet all our guests,” Mike says. The reception was taken inside to the Bougainvillea Room at the restaurant, where an indoor waterfall and stone fireplace set a rustic, natural ambience that reflected the surrounding valley. Round dining tables dressed in silver tablecloths were decorated with succulents, roses and hydrangeas, thanks to the event planners of Momentous. We loved the three-tier ivory wedding cake that the couple cut into, accented with green succulents and filled with flavors of carrot, coconut and chocolate.
