A Classic, Colorful Wedding at The James A. Michener in Doylestown, Pennsylvania

Emily Strasburg (25 and a special education teacher) and Andrew DiPietro (24 and a chemical engineer) met in high school while caroling with friends. For their winter wedding, textured linens and cranberry-colored florals created a classic look. “We didn’t want anything overly manicured or stuffy,” Emily says of their semiformal affair.  “We booked the museum because it’s an iconic Doylestown landmark that felt different from other venues,” Emily says. “It felt like a blank canvas we could truly make our own.” Against the room’s dramatic stone interior, gold accents and plenty of candlelight softened the space.

Emily topped her lace gown with an ivory wrap and traded her cream-colored heels for glittered sneakers just before the reception.  Signature bourbon cocktails were a hit as were the red velvet and chocolate chip cupcakes and late-night spread of apple cider doughnuts.
