With a winter romance theme in mind, Caitlyn Omensetter (28 and a nanny) and Jonathan Pfeifer (28 and a truck manufacturer) filled their colonial-style setting with pine cone details and frosty shades of ivory, blue and gray. The couple didn’t have to search long to find their dream venue at Peddler’s Village in Lahaska. “The space looked absolutely beautiful during the winter season,” Caitlyn says. “It was the first venue we looked at, and we booked it immediately.” Flowers were key for bringing their wintery vision to life. Soft white blooms accented with sage-colored greens mirrored freshly fallen snow, and white carriage lanterns filled with ivory pillar candles helped create a warm, inviting atmosphere. Taking a slight divergence from their cool weather theme, Caitlyn and Jonathan put a summery twist on dessert, serving a buttercream neapolitan cake made with layers of sweet strawberry cream. “Guests still tell me that our cake was the best they’ve ever had,” Caitlyn says. After sipping on signature cranberry champagne cocktails, guests took home snowflake wine bottle stoppers that served as favors.
