A Classic Wedding With Vintage Touches in Santa Monica, California
Tiffany and Stephen met working at the same company, but didn't really get to know each other until they both left to pursue other jobs. Three years later, Stephen proposed on Tiffany's 31st birthday. The couple knew they wanted a quirky venue with vintage and romantic flair—they didn't want to go the traditional ballroom route. They settled on the Victorian in Santa Monica, California, a historic house with antique details like ornate fireplaces, rows of old books and Victorian architecture that would accommodate an indoor wedding. Their wedding planner used their vintage theme as a jumping off point, incorporating soft pinks and purples and gold into their floral centerpieces and Tiffany's bouquet. In breaking with tradition, Stephen and Tiffany didn't have a wedding party; they kept it intimate with just their family. For the reception, Tiffany and Stephen treated their guests to the tunes of a jazz trio instead of a traditional DJ or band, including a french gypsy vintage jazz vocalist (through the Warren Priske Jazz Band). Stephen and Tiffany also didn't skimp on the food—in addition to a full meal, they had hors d'oeuvres including charcuterie and european cheese, fresh fruit, ahi tuna on wonton crisps, skewered shrimp, baked brie tartlets, grilled organic chicken marinated in smoked paprika. Late night snacks for guests included mini beef sliders, and chocolate covered strawberries. There was also a specialty cocktail, made of vodka, lemon, blueberries, mint, and champagne. After their fabulous affair, Stephen and Tiffany made a grand exit with sparklers. The best finale of all? They took off months later for an extended honeymoon in Japan, as an homage to their shared heritage.
