A Classic Wedding With a Modern Twist at the Center in Cincinnati, Ohio

Although Jamie Gentile (28 and an ENT surgeon) and Jeff Welshhans (35 and a general surgeon) chose a classic theme for their wedding, they envisioned the traditional look within a modern space for their reception—exactly what they found at the Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. "The venue was an old contemporary art center and is now a modern loft-style space," Jamie says. "I liked the clean, crisp design of the space, and we liked the idea of something other than the usual hotel ballroom." The pink, white and gold palette shaped the romantic ambience of the day—from the white wedding invitations with gold geometric patterns to the white and gold wedding cake with pink roses. The high ceilings and ornate interior of St. Francis de Sales Parish in Cincinnati, Ohio, served as the perfect place for Jamie and Jeff's traditional Catholic ceremony, where Jamie walked down the aisle wearing her strapless white Martina Liana dress. Then guests headed to the modern space for the reception, where they sat at white-covered dining tables marked with classic number designs that embodied the palette. An adorable blush menu with gold speckles had a cream-colored napkin folded around its bottom edges, topped with two delicious-looking macaroons to take home. Of all the details, ranging from modern to classic, we fell in love with the accessory that gave Jamie an extra sparkle and shine—her silver Kate Spade shoes topped with a bow that shimmered everywhere she walked, captured on camera by Blue Martini Photography.
