A Classic Wedding Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, Colorado
Ashley Rowe (31 and a geriatric social worker) and Oliver Wiersma (31 and an office manager) met at Oliver’s work. About 15 months after they started dating, Oliver proposed. They went on their nightly walk with their dog when he got on one knee and asked her to marry him. Ashley and Oliver wanted an intimate wedding and only invited 50 guests. They exchanged vows at the Lionscrest Manor because it was small but still had a great view. They loved that Lionscrest didn’t have more than one wedding on the same date. Both Ashley and Oliver picked a color for their outdoor spring wedding. They picked purple and yellow and stuck to it. Everything from the bouquets to the linens to the cake was purple and yellow. The couple exchanged vows outside and then had an indoor reception, which they brought their own alcohol to (a very budget-friendly option!). The day really reflected who they are as people and a couple. From the Bride: “We are both laid back people,” she says. “And I believe our wedding reflected that. We didn’t get uptight about the small details or things that didn’t go exactly as expected. We got married to show our love and commitment to ourselves and our friends and family. That was all that mattered.”
