A Classic Wedding at The Manor House in Littleton, Colorado

Erin Gould (24 and a physical therapist) and John Baker (26 and a credit analyst) met in high school and have been together ever since. About eight years later, they took a trip to New York City for a little March getaway. “We had just taken a carriage ride around Central Park and were exploring Central Park more by foot,” Erin says. “John led me up a pile of boulders that overlook the park. He got down on one knee, and I, of course, said, ‘Yes!’” Although the couple lives in Illinois, they decided to have a destination wedding in Colorado because of their love for the state. "John has always loved Colorado since he was young," Erin says. "His dad is a farmer and they would travel to Colorado frequently when John was growing up to see cattle shows. John went to his first baseball game at Coors Field, and from then on he has been one of the Colorado Rockies biggest fans. We have traveled to Colorado together, where I also fell in love with the state's beautiful scenery. When we got engaged, I had asked John if we could get married anywhere, where would he pick. He instantly said, ‘Home plate of Coors Field.’ I said, ‘Well, I'm not sure if that will work, but we could definitely do Colorado!’ After some online researching, I came upon The Manor House and it was the perfect fit." They chose The Manor House in Littleton, Colorado, for a classic, romantic venue for themselves and their 80 guests. Rustic elements like chalkboards and window panes added a shabby chic twist to their summery mint and coral color palette. Kimball Floral created the lush floral arrangements—including dahlias, ranunculus and succulents—in the wedding colors for simple, fresh decor. They served grapefruit mojitos for their signature drink (which matched the color palette perfectly) and margherita pizzas and sausage calzones for the appetizers. For dinner, A Perfect Bite Catering served Gorgonzola and peppered bacon-stuffed filet mignon and Fontina cheese stuffed chicken in a basil pesto cream, both served with roasted rosemary baby red potatoes and a green bean almandine. Yum!
