A Classic Wedding at The Madrid Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri

Katie Reynolds (26 and works in human resources) and Ryan Scott (30 and works in sales) met through mutual friends. Three months into dating, Ryan was diagnosed with cancer, but the treatment worked and he has been cancer free for two years. “As hard as that time was, we grew as a couple and our relationship is stronger because of it,” Katie says. Ryan proposed at the Country Club Plaza with just the two of them. The couple had a traditional Catholic ceremony at Katie’s childhood church. “The church has a lot of sentimental value to me and made our wedding very special,” Katie says. Afterwards, they went to The Madrid Theatre for their reception, which was decorated with a black, white and silver color palette for a classic look.
