A Classic Wedding at Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites Minneapolis in Lakeville, Minnesota
Using a sage green, slate gray, blush and ivory color palette, Diane Carter (27 and a project manager at a bank) and Tom Carter (26 and an analyst at an insurance company) wanted their wedding to be classic and formal, but also light and airy for their August date. They chose Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, Minnesota, for their ceremony because it's the church they both grew up in. “The sanctuary is flooded with natural light, and we were lucky that the paraments of the liturgical season were green to match our day,” Diane says. “The gardens and green space outside the church were breathtaking. It was so peaceful and sunny.” Florals By Claire created all the stunning floral arrangements that brought a little extra romance to the day. “We had a fabulous florist who read my mind when it came to the flowers,” Diane says. “She set us up with beautiful white and silver blooms while adding some pops of pink. One of my favorite things she created were these flower wands for my flower girls. She made them with silk flowers so the girls could keep them, and they looked just as amazing as the real flower bouquets.” Photographer Krista Reynolds beautifully captured all the details of the day. After their traditional Christian ceremony, Diane and Tom had their reception at Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Minneapolis in Lakeville, Minnesota. “It was love at first sight when we visited our reception venue,” Diane says. “And if that wasn't enough, we fell head over heels again when we went to the food tasting.” One of their favorite parts was the Kinky-tini signature cocktail made with Kinky liqueur, pineapple juice and a champagne chaser. A tip from the bride: “Don't be afraid to make special requests for your big day. We asked our guests to be unplugged during the ceremony and to enjoy the day with us. And they did!”
