The father of Natalie Tunnell (22), who happened to be Cole Cleveland's (24 and a business owner and college basketball coach) high school baseball coach, asked Cole to come over one day to give Natalie some basketball lessons. The couple’s relationship persevered through long-distance when Natalie left the state to play college basketball and Cole went on to play college baseball. While Natalie was visiting to watch Cole play, Cole planned a surprise date, which recreated all of the couple’s “firsts” from their first dinner together and the first movie they watched. The night ended with Cole presenting Natalie with her favorite petit fours iced with the words “Will You Marry Me?” and the ring between them. The couple’s wedding ceremony and reception took place at the Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum. “What first drew us to this location were the gorgeous grand columns in the front of the building,” says Natalie. “It was also perfect because we were able to have the ceremony outside on the beautiful back courtyard and the reception in the long rectangular ballroom.” The color palette included bright royal blue to represent Cole, fuchsia inspired by the phalaenopsis orchids in Natalie’s bouquet and Cole’s boutonniere, and sparkly gold to complement the bright colors. At the reception, the couple introduced the wedding party like a sports lineup before a game to create a fun atmosphere, and the DJ got guests out of their chairs and involved in dances and games. “We were so incredibly happy,” says Natalie, “and it felt like all of our guests were just as happy and excited to be there as we were.”

“I had always pictured using phalaenopsis orchids in our wedding,” says the bride. She carried a stunning cascading bouquet of bright fuchsia orchids.
Cole picked out all three styles of menswear in the wedding party from Men’s Wearhouse. According to the bride, “he had fun!”
The bridesmaids wore royal blue dresses from Ann Taylor.
“Our faith is the most important aspect of our lives and we wanted to make sure that was incorporated on such an important day together,” says the bride. All of the music the couple chose for the pre-ceremony and ceremony were hymns that had an impact on the couple throughout their spiritual lives.
As a fun twist in atmosphere, the couple recessed down the aisle to “Oh Yeah” from the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off soundtrack. “It made everyone laugh and set up the super fun and joyful mood for the following reception,” says the bride.
