A Classic Wedding at Bamsley Gardens in Adairsville, Georgia

Rachel Norton (30 and an elementary school teacher) and Jeffrey Bruckwicki (27 and a small business owner) met on a Saturday morning to join a group of cyclists to ride to Stone Mountain and back. Jeff rode with Rachel on the return trip and shared a bowl of strawberries and bananas after the ride. They exchanged numbers, and met up the next day for pizza. Later in the year, Jeffrey took Rachel to Roosevelt State Park where her family had spent many vacations. As they were preparing to leave, Jeffrey grabbed Rachel’s arm and said, “Wait! I have something for you! ...Will you?” He nervously reached his arm out and handed her a ring. Rachel looked at it and asked, “Yes! Can I keep it?” A year later, the couple got married at Bamsley Gardens in Adairsville, Georgia for the charm of its surrounding cottages, ruins and amenities for guests. Rachel and Jeff took an embossing class to learn how to make their own stationery, and created all the paper props themselves, from the stationery to the menu cards. The wedding colors were navy, peach and cream for a whimsical feel to align with the natural beauty and history of the garden and ruins. The couple’s dessert menu was elaborate, ranging from fresh local Georgia peaches to a shooter and cookie bar in addition to a four tier wedding cake with vegan buttercream frosting. “We loved having our closest friends and family in one place to celebrate and support us,” says Rachel. “We were extremely grateful that they traveled from all over the world to be with us.”
