A Classic Waterfront Wedding at the Dockside Guest Quarters and Restaurant in York, Maine

Andie Dinsmore (27 and a forensic psychologist) and Ryan Brimigion (29 and a forensic psychologist) met in Boston while pursuing their doctoral degrees in clinical psychology. They first bonded over Freudian slips and inkblots, but later realized that they had much more in common than psychology. Over dinner dates in the North End and summer trips to the beach, they fell in love. Nearly three years later, Ryan proposed to Andie as the sun was setting over the picturesque Nubble Lighthouse on the shore of the Atlantic Ocean. The couple decided to have the wedding in York, Maine, as the location is significant to them and their families and they were impressed with the Dockside Guest Quarters and Restaurant, a place where Andie’s parents had long been celebrating their own anniversary. The ceremony overlooked Southern Maine’s rocky shoreline and offered views of yachts and colorful lobster boats in York Harbor. Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails on the lawn in front of the inn, and exceptional gourmet food. The dining room featured floor to ceiling windows and wrap around porches facing the scenic harbor with an impressive view of the ocean. Much of the ceremony and reception decor was handmade by Andie and Ryan, including the programs and starfish aisle markers. In honor of Maine, Andie and Ryan decided to forego cake in favor of wild Maine blueberry pie and vanilla ice cream. In lieu of favors, the couple made a donation for each guest to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer charity in memory of Andie’s grandmother. The party continued late into the night at a nearby beachfront bar and grill, where family and friends gathered for stories, laughs and a late night dip into the ocean.
