A Classic Waterfront Wedding at 425 Downtown in Springfield, Missouri

Ashley Westhoff (27 and a therapist) and Tegan Wallace (28 and a welder) met through mutual friends. Almost four years later, Tegan proposed as they were getting ready to go to Ashley’s hometown fair. “I loved that it was just me and him,” Ashley says. “It was so intimate. Then we shared the news with all my family and friends at the fair.” The couple had an intimate ceremony with only 20 people at their favorite spot: Fellow Lake. “We chose this lake because it has been our spot ever since we started dating,” Ashley says. “Anytime the weather is nice we take our dog to the park and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.” Ashley wore a custom lace wedding dress since she couldn't find something she adored in a store. She completed her look with a pair of classic blush ballet slippers. After the intimate ceremony, Ashley and Tegan went to 425 Downtown for a reception with about 150 people. Wanting their wedding to be simple and fun, they chose a neutral color palette of shades of white, gray and coral. They served brisket and pork for dinner with red potatoes, green beans and salad. They had a three-tier white buttercream cake topped with white peonies and coral roses for dessert. At the end of the night, the DJ set up a game of beer pong, which ended up being the men against the women. “It was so much fun,” Ashley says. “Everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves.”
