Caitlin Oakes (29, Executive Recruiter) and Daniel Zilinski (30, IT Risk Manager) met  on Caitlin's first day at her new job--Dan was her superior at the company! "He was not at all the experienced, tall, authoritative figure I pictured, but Dan...the young, incredibly friendly peer," Caitlin recalls. After four years together, living in a condo with a puppy, the couple vacationed to Costa Rica. After dinner one night, the couple was chatting on the balcony of their hotel when Dan asked Caitlin if she liked the adventures they went on together, and how many more adventures would she like to share with him in the future. "My response was "nine." Well, that stopped him. "Nine," he exclaimed, "Why nine?" "Well, cats have nine lives." Ever quick on his feet, he laughed and responded, "What about a lifetime of adventures?" With that he got down on one knee and pulled out a ring," Caitlin says. The couple held their wedding in Stowe, Vermont, with a ceremony at the Stowe Community Church and the reception at the Stowe Mountain Lodge. "It felt like we had this amazing resort to ourselves for the entire weekend and it was the most fabulous experience," Caitlin says. A pink and black color palette and creative accents like vintage postcards used as escort cards (and with a handwritten note by the couple on each postcard), burlap table runners and tree slice decor on the tables gave Caitlin and Dan's wedding a classic, vintage feel with rustic touches.

White wedge Toms gave Caitlin total comfort and allowed her to walk easily through the fields at the ceremony and reception venue.
Pink and White Bridesmaid Bouquet
The bridesmaids wore Ralph Lauren black cocktail dresses.
The boutonniere was a white rose boutonniere with green berries and wrapped in brown twine string.
Vintage postcards were used for the escort cards. Each postcard had a handwritten note from the couple to the guests.
An illustrated compass and a quote from Beethoven added a touch of classic elegance to the folded ivory programs.
A sign invited guests to write a message to the couple on Jenga blocks to help the couple "build their future."
A fresh green apple was placed on top of the folded white linen napkins for the place settings. The white menu card was tucked into the napkins.
A carved tree slice with the couple's initials was surrounded by candles for the head table decor.
The reception at the Stowe Mountain Lodge gave guests a gorgeous view of the mountains as well as many activities to participate over the wedding weekend.
