A Classic Travel-Themed Wedding at Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, Minnesota

On a vacation with friends across the pond to England, Tara DeMars (24 and a recreation and leisure organizer) met Anthony Reeson (23 and a development technologist), a British native. They developed a close friendship but never imagined they would dive into a long distance relationship. They spent a year keeping touch through Facebook before Anthony made his first trip to America, where they got to meet each other all over again. After spending a few weeks with Tara's family, Anthony and Tara fell head over heels and decided to give long distance dating a chance. Finally, after traveling back and forth for 11 months, Anthony proposed on the north shore in Lutsen at sunset while visiting Duluth for Tara's birthday: "With a swarm of his favorite Minnesotan friends – mosquitoes," Tara jokes. They were married in Tara's home church, Lakewood Evangelical Free Church in Baxter, Minnesota, where they were able to incorporate a travel theme to represent their long distance romance along with a few unexpected English details.
