Brianne Stockman (29, a high school teacher) met Chad Stockman (30, a warehouse general manager) during the summer of 2010 playing sand volleyball at Volleyball Beach in Kansas City, Missouri. After a few weeks of playing volleyball together, Chad finally asked Brianne out for drinks, and the rest was history. They dated for four years before Chad popped the question. “Our wedding reception was held at The Venue in Leawood, Kansas,” Brianne says. “We chose this location for several reasons. One, it’s close to the church so it would be easy for people to access it, especially our out of town guests. But we really fell in love with it after seeing renditions of what it would hopefully look like when construction was finished. When we first went in there were dust and construction materials everywhere! And we wouldn't know what it was actually going to look like until July, only three months before our wedding. The description and drawings were what really had us in love with the space. It was described to us as a modern space with a large dance floor, romantic mood lighting, and a gorgeous outdoor patio (perfect for our fall wedding). The space ended up being better than we could have imagined. It somehow fit our style and personalities perfectly! Clean, sleek lines, indoor fireplace, large dance floor and a romantic feel.”

"We used all different flowers in each of the bouquets -- hydrangeas, sunflowers, roses and greenery," Brianne says. "The bouquet I carried down the aisle had my grandmother's rosary wrapped around the stems, and I also carried the same prayer book my grandmother and aunt carried at their wedding. The same flowers were used as centerpieces on the tables. We used different glass, chrome and candles on each table to switch up the centerpieces."
Brianne wore a traditional ball gown silhouette dress with a sweetheart neckline and a band of beading under the bustline by Paloma Blanca. For the ceremony, she wore a beaded bolero by Maggie Sottero that was removed for the reception.
"All of the bridesmaids wore a one shoulder satin grey dress by Alfred Angelo," Brianne says. "All of the men in the wedding party wore black Calvin Klein Tuxedos from Men's Wearhouse. Chad wore a white vest and bowtie, our dads wore black vests and bowties and the groomsmen, ushers, and ring bearers wore gray vests and bowties."rn
"Cocktail hour and appetizers were served immediately following the wedding," Brianne says. "The dinner was served after, cocktail hour. The menu consisted of a stuffed chicken, prime rib, vegetable medley, a pear salad and a mashed potato bar (served in martini glasses)!"rn
"Our cake was five individual cakes instead of one traditional cake," Brianne says. "The cakes had different decorations and flavors. The flavors consisted of lemon with raspberry filling, pink champagne, almond with strawberry filling and a traditional vanilla with butter cream."
