A Classic, Summer Wedding at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland
Caitlin McGowan (27 and a psychologist) and Nick Wiesner (28 and a creative director) met when they were twelve years old. They first ran across each other while summering at their family's lake homes on Washington Island in Wisconsin. They were inseparable that summer, and they kept in touch by writing letters to each other when they returned to school. Ten years later, Caitlin and Nick reconnected in Chicago, and they've been together ever since. Their traditional wedding reflected their family histories as much as it reflected their personalities. Caitlin and Nick were married at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Potomac, Maryland, where Caitlin was baptized. The following reception took place in the ballroom of the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, where Caitlin's family has had membership for two generations. Their getaway car was Caitlin's grandfather's antique, red 1966 SS Chevelle. Caitlin and Nick's wedding style was classic and crisp in black, white with hints of yellow, blue and pink. Floral designs included trumpet vases with hydrangeas and silver bowls filled with pink roses. Caitlin herself looked stunning in a Romona Keveza ball gown, and she and Nick danced the night away to live music under candelabra chandeliers as their guests feasted on a beautiful, swiss dotted wedding cake with a bow topper. This classic wedding was truly a union of two families.
