A Classic Spring Wedding at Burnt Pines Club House in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida
With their hearts set on a classic day, Kerry Henshaw (31 and a real estate agent) and Davis Conway (28 and a sales representative and personal trainer) exchanged vows in a church, then partied with family and friends in a posh country club. “I wanted my wedding to be elegant, classic and fun, because that’s how Davis and I are,” Kerry says. The pair also embraced the season and infused the colors of spring into their floral arrangements, wedding party ensembles and cake decorations. For her walk down the aisle, Kerry wore a tiered A-line gown with lace sleeves and a keyhole back, and carried a spring-inspired bouquet of green hydrangeas, pink peonies, purple roses and cascading amaranthus. Because they were only allowed minimal furnishings at the church where they exchanged vows, the pair got creative. “We had two huge potted arrangements on either side of the altar that we had moved to the front of the reception,” Kerry says. It also saved them money on reception décor. To ensure the festivities went off without a hitch, Kerry and Davis enlisted the help of the planning pros at John Gandy Events, who styled the reception with flower-forward flair, including spectacular floral chandeliers. A swanky outdoor sitting area set with regal peacock-style chairs, fluffy pillows and gold poufs completed the elegant reception look. After dinner and dessert, which consisted of Italian cream, carrot and almond wedding cake, the newlyweds joined their guests out on the black-and-white checked dance floor, where the band Big Night Dynamite churned out upbeat tunes late into the night. “I definitely had nightmares [before the wedding],” Kerry says of the anxiety of the look coming together. “But remember to enjoy every moment because the day goes by so quickly.”
