A Classic Southern Wedding at Carl House in Auburn, Georgia
Laila Schuler (23 and a police officer) and Robert Schuler (23 and an accountant) fell in love with the white house and columns of Carl House in Auburn, Georgia, and knew it was the right place to host their classic Southern wedding. “It did not need any extra decor or fluff, and the staff was extremely helpful,” the bride says. “It just felt like your home.” For her wedding dress, Laila turned to I Do, I Do Bridal Boutique in Athens, Georgia, and found great success in their selection of gowns. “I loved every wedding dress I tried on, but chose my wedding dress for the lace,” Laila says. Her simple and elegant style carried throughout the day, from her all-white bouquet by Peddlers Wagon to the matching wedding cake by the couple’s family friend, the owner of Edible Edification. “It was the most moist and delicious wedding cake I have ever tasted, and I am not even embellishing because it was my cake,” the bride says. It was a hit with the guests. The most special part of the wedding to Laila and Robert was their wedding ceremony. They made sure to include a nod to their cultures by offering guests colorful fans to represent Laila’s Mexican upbringing and wooden fans for Robert’s Japanese heritage. “The ceremony was so special because we were able to make a commitment to each other in front of our friends and family who mean the most to us,” Laila says.
