A Classic Seaside Wedding at South Seas Island Resort in Captiva Island, Florida
At a location near and dear to their hearts, Elise (27 and a psychotherapist) and Nicolas (27 and a computer engineer) planned a day with a coastal atmosphere, curating every detail for the wedding the help of Jet Set Wed. “We both wanted a simple design because the site we chose was so beautiful on its own,” Elise says. “Once we had that picked, everything else fell into place. The accents our planner helped us choose capitalized on the natural look.” Envelopes with a wood grain texture and invitations with a wash of pink watercolor supported the coastal motif. “We wanted to go with a natural and relaxed look for our wedding day,” Elise says of their stationery. The bride held a bouquet of peonies, roses and some greenery, and gifted her bridesmaids light gray shawls that softly accessorized their blush dresses. After the newlyweds walked up the aisle to “I Choose You” by Sara Bareilles, a trumpet player supplied tunes for cocktail hour. Guests enjoyed sparkling drinks garnished with green sprigs at high-top tables covered in blush and blue linens. “We wanted softer colors to complement the airy, beachy look,” Elise says. Subtle blue and white reception décor accented the transparent tent, which included a dance floor and space for a live band. Iced with fondant and edible blue watercoloring, the dessert consisted of almond cake frosted with buttercream.
