A Classic, Rustic Wedding at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Melissa Fate (32 and a first grade teacher at St. Paul's Episcopal Day School) and Casey Sansale (33 and works for Cerner Corporation) met through mutual friends. Casey proposed at Melissa’s parent’s home with their puppy in tow. The couple decided they wanted a destination wedding, and The Broadmoor was an easy choice for its naturally beautiful decor and swoon-worthy views. They exchanged vows on the Lakeside Terrance for a waterfront and mountainous backdrop complete with a monogrammed burlap aisle runner for a rustic, personalized flair. Design Works created the lush pink and white floral arrangements framing the alter, which added a little pop of both color and nature to the outdoor ceremony. Afterwards, Melissa and Casey had a more glamorous reception with gold accents in the Broadmoor ballroom. They used pink and coral as their main colors and added rustic details such as burlap and wood and worked with SK Event Specialists to bring all the details together. At the end of the night, they enjoyed a four-tier white buttercream wedding cake made by The Broadmoor, and danced to Soul-X from Denver, which was one of the best parts. “They were so good and made the entire reception,” Melissa says. “Everyone was dancing and enjoying them. They jumped off the stage and did handstands and flips. I have never seen anything like it. They involved the audience so much it was great!”
