A Classic, Romantic Wedding at the Las Vegas Pauite Golf Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada

Desiree Brawley (28 and a marriage and family therapist) and Marcio Rezende (31 and an insurance agent) met on an online dating website the night Desiree intended on deleting her profile. Their first date brought them to a sushi restaurant where they ended up staying to talk long after the restaurant closed. During their time together, the couple traveled to Cancun, Hawaii, Spain and Brazil, so Desiree always imagined that Marcio would propose in an exotic location. Instead, Marcio surprised Desiree by interrupting his morning run routine with a bedside proposal in the couple’s new home. Desiree and Marcio had always talked about a destination beach wedding, but when they became engaged, they realized they wanted to make the traveling easier on their families and instead planned their wedding locally in Las Vegas. “What better place than Vegas for everyone to visit and enjoy!” says the bride. She knew she didn’t want the wedding to feel big city, so when she found the Las Vegas Pauite Golf Resort, a green grass venue not far from the Las Vegas Strip through a blog post of her photographer, she knew she wanted to get married there. Her wedding dress was reminiscent of Spanish flamenco dancers, which was special to her since she is from Spain. Marcio and his groomsmen wore casual gray suits. A guitarist played light music as guests arrived to the outdoor ceremony and moved into the reception hall. To give their guests a taste of their cultures, the couple had a dessert bar full of homemade Spanish and Brazilian pastries made by their mothers. Desiree and Marcio also surprised their parents with a slideshow of them growing up and their time as a couple.
