A Classic, Romantic Wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor in Bay Harbor, Michigan

James Oliver (30 and a fund accountant) and Eliza Langdon (29 and an attorney) met while attending a philanthropy event for their fraternity and sorority. The next day, they have their first day and their romance took off. After a whirlwind of nine years together, James shocked Eliza with a romantic proposal while on a walk overlooking the ocean in Santa Monica. They decided to have their wedding at the Inn at Bay Harbor in Bay Harbor, MI. "It was the perfect venue for my theme," Eliza says. "It had kind of an old- Hollywood vibe with the checkered floor and chandeliers." Their theme was traditional with added personal touches reflecting a princess, glamour style. Their outdoor ceremony overlooking Lake Michigan was reflective of their adopted California lifestyle. Their color palette was peach bellini, light pink and white. Eliza decorated the space with simple accents creating a laid-back, romantic ambiance. "I used sparkly and shimmery linens and mercury glass on the inside area," she says. The true highlight of their wedding, however, was the entertainment. Their live band, the Bluewater Kings, had everyone on the dance floor all night. "We loved dancing the night away with our closest friends and family to some of our all-time favorites, Bon Jovi and Journey," Eliza says. The lakefront view, warm decor and exciting entertainment combined to make the most perfect wedding James and Eliza could have imagined.
