A Classic, Romantic Wedding at Racquet Club of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Betsy Goodman (25, medical student) and Daniel Salazar (30, civil engineer) met at a mutual friend’s birthday party at El Vez, a Mexican restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. They bonded over their shared love of salsa dancing, the Oscars and good jokes, and they knew the connection was real when they bought tickets to see a show three months in advance after only their second date. Daniel proposed to Betsy after tricking her into thinking they were going on a double date with some friends. He took her to Rittenhouse Square, where they shared their first kiss, and was able to pop the question even though he had lost his voice that day. After she said yes, Daniel took Betsy on a walk to El Vez, the restaurant where they first met. At the restaurant, both their families and friends were waiting to celebrate with them. "I couldn't imagine a better way to celebrate our engagement," says Betsy. The couple decided to get married at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia. Their wedding had a romantic color palette of pinks, yellows and peaches, and their ballroom reception was decorated with lush flower arrangements of peonies, roses, dahlias, zinnias and sweet peas on elegant silver candelabras. The newlyweds and their loved ones celebrated their wedding night with motown music, salsa dancing and the Colombian tradition called "hora loca," where guests dressed in Colombian hats, funky glasses and glow stick bracelets and partied like crazy. Betsy and Daniel's classic ballroom wedding was romantic, sophisticated and fun.
