A Classic, Romantic Wedding at a Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri

Katie Taylor (28 and a teacher) and Teddy Felker (28 and an insurance broker) met in middle school. However, they didn’t seriously date until they ran into each other at a friend’s wedding years later. During a surprise night away, Teddy proposed in a courtyard surrounded by twinkling lights. After a quick search for a wedding venue, they quickly decided on the country club Teddy spent many of his childhood days. They loved the outdoor space and historic-looking white club as the backdrop. Wanting a soft, romantic feel for their wedding, they stuck to a neutral color palette of black, white and blush. They worked with Bloomin’ Buckets to create the lush floral arrangements including the adorable flower girl flower crown, rustic centerpieces and slightly varied bouquets. For the reception, Katie and Teddy set up three long tables for a more intimate feel. One of the best parts of the menu by the country club was the candied bacon, which is a St. Louis specialty. After dinner, guests enjoyed the couple's favorite kind of cake, banana with rum frosting, from The Cakery Bakery. Katie and Teddy’s favorite band, Griffin and the Gargoyles, set the tone for the lively dancing into the night. At the end of the day, guests went home with local honey that was harvest from the beehives behind their high school.
