A Classic Red and Gray Wedding at Dock580 in Columbus, Ohio
This old warehouse was renovated into a catering venue called Dock580 in Columbus, Ohio, which preserved its industrial vibe through exposed bricks and wood beams. So for their classic wedding, Sarah Young (32 and in human resources) and Ken McCormick (45 and in human resources) needed little decor in addition to the already-ornamented interior. Since the couple had their wedding in the wintertime, they wanted to match the season with a color palette of scarlet red and gray, captured on camera by Asteria Photography. Bright red roses, calla lilies, orchids and hydrangeas added pops of color and served as the main decor throughout the day—from the hanging floral pomanders on chairs lining the ceremonial aisle to the wedding party’s bouquets and boutonnieres. Sarah added color to her outfit with scarlet red Betsey Johnson shoes, which she wore with her strapless ivory wedding dress covered with lace that was designed by Blue by Enzoani. Although it wasn't reflected in the theme of the wedding, we loved that the color palette represented something personal to the couple—the Ohio State Buckeyes football team! “The whole day reflected us as a couple by just being fun,” the couple says. “We picked every aspect of our ceremony, including writing our own vows, and we got to spend a lot of time with guests, from cocktail hour through the reception.”
