A Classic Purple Wedding at Hawthorne House in Parkville, Missouri
Danielle Adamson and Freddie Adamson decided to get married at the Hawthorne House in Parkville, Missouri, which provided them with everything they needed on-site -- plus, they were only 15 minutes from downtown Kansas City. They exchanged vows in the Hawthorne House Chapel, nestled in the woods and adorned with six-foot-tall gothic windows and a round stained-glass window salvaged and restored from a European church. After their dramatic first kiss, the couple had a classic reception inside the historic ballroom. The vaulted ceilings, gold chandeliers and natural wood gave a shabby-chic feel to the otherwise classic wedding, while Danielle and Freddie’s color palette of shades of purple and ivory gave a romantic twist to the summer soiree. The silver tree and purple flower centerpieces added a whimsical garden feel to the room. At the end of the night, the couple enjoyed a three-tier ivory wedding cake decorated with white detailing, purple carnations and ivory hydrangeas.
