A Classic Purple Wedding at 9th Street Abbey in St. Louis, Missouri
Becky Stone (30 and a construction manager) and Pravi Chahal (37 and works in corporate finance) met at a holiday party through mutual friends. Pravi proposed on Becky’s birthday on a pier in Tahoe, California. The couple exchanged vows at 9th Street Abbey because they loved the vaulted ceilings, stained glass windows and indoor and outdoor options. They used an ivory, peach and purple color palette with gold accents for a classic look. In honor of their summer wedding, they used actual peaches throughout the decor such as in the tall centerpieces and as the escort cards. “August is peach season in St. Louis,” Becky says. “They kept the wedding feeling fresh and like summer.” At the end of the night guests went home with baseball-themed flavored popcorn. “Pravi and I are big baseball fans; however, we do not root for the same team,” Becky says. “In the spirit of our household rivalry, we set up a Cardinals vs. Giants popcorn bar. We had separate flavors and to-go boxes for each team. This made for a great late night snack and party favor.”
