Although the ceremony and reception took place outside of the mansion on the property, elegance followed in a color palette of purple and green with accents of white throughout the outdoor wedding! From the strapless bridesmaid dresses in a bright purple color to the greens mixed in with the purple roses and stephanotis in the bride’s bouquet, everything was tied together through the vibrant hues. “I chose purple and green for the colors because I loved the way they complemented one another, especially when combined with a summer wedding,” Maria says. Maria Velez (27 and a counseling psychology graduate student) and Victor Cancel (27 and in agricultural sales) were married at Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia, California, where their outdoor ceremony took place underneath white panels of wood draped with green leaves and the reception that was moved into a classic white tent on the property, all captured by Beautiful Contrasts Photography. One of our favorite details from the wedding day was the three-tiered ivory cake served at the end of the meal, positioned on an elegant silver stand surrounded by purple and white linens. The cake incorporated purple and green into the flowers that decorated the perimeter of the tiers, along with an adorable green “Mr & Mrs” cake topper and two wine corks that depicted a bride and a with a miniature veil and bow tie. “Our wedding cake had different tiers of red velvet and salted caramel, which was covered with white frosting and fresh purple and green flowers,” Maria says.
