A Classic, Pastel-Colored Wedding at Stewart Family Farm in Harrisburg, Oregon
Flower arrangements in soft shades of yellow, pink and white had us feeling the love in the air at this outdoor classic wedding. Nyssa Holmes (25 and a health student) and John Hanan (29 and a bartender) stumbled upon Stewart Family Farm in Harrisburg, Oregon, and with a spacious backyard surrounded by an orchard and creek, the couple were sold by its natural beauty. The ceremony that took place on the lawn needed little additional decor, thanks to the lush surrounding plants and trees on the property that were captured on camera by Joshua Rainey Photography. Nyssa and John got married between two rustic barrels with lush pastel-colored flower arrangements on top, which resembled Nyssa's bouquet—filled with peonies, roses and alstroemerias—arranged by Grays Garden Center. The celebrations were then moved to the tented reception, where white tables were decorated with glass jars wrapped with burlap and filled with romantic arrangements of hydrangeas, roses and alstroemerias. In addition to pastel flowers, the space was decorated with a plentiful amount of DIY details, from the wooden signs to the old trunk used as a table for baby pictures of the couple. What really caught our attention was the nontraditional route they took for the guest book. “Instead of a guestbook for people to sign, we asked people to write little messages in gold and silver pens on flat river rocks,” Nyssa says. “A family member sprayed them for us with a laminate, and now we will have them forever. It's fun being able to look over and see our close family and friends' messages to us and remember that day.”
