A Classic, Outdoor Wedding at the Dellwood Country Club in Dellwood, Minnesota

Newlyweds Amanda (24 and a kindergarten teacher) and Max (28 and a bartender) met during the fall of 2011 while working the same shift at a restaurant. "Our manager warned him that I had a boyfriend, but he quickly responded that 'he could change that'," Amanda explains. "Truthfully, it came off as a bit cocky, so I wasn't a fan." A year later after Amanda had graduated and secured her first teaching job, the two began dating. "One night I was getting ready for bed and Max gave me a fake apple that had 'Miss R' painted on it in silver," she says. "I pretended it was the most beautiful apple that I'd ever seen and then proceeded to get into bed. He then handed me another apple, but the second one had 'Mrs. B' painted on it instead. When I turned to him to ask him who Mrs. B was, he had already got down on one knee." For their outdoor wedding in Dellwood, the couple chose the city's country club due to it's space and scenery. "I'm a casual person and love a good Minnesota summer, so we looked into a lot of different venues that could provide us with an outdoor wedding," Amanda says. "Dellwood fit perfectly -- the backdrop for our outdoor ceremony was absolutely breathtaking." For their classic decor, the couple settled on one hue crucial to their color scheme. "When Max and I started dating, he had a yellow rose bush in his yard," Amanda says. "That was the first flower that he'd ever given me, so i wanted to incorporate hints of yellow into our wedding. When paired with gray and navy, the overall look was both elegant and soft. "Our wedding day went off without a hitch," the bride says. "It was so much fun to just enjoy the day and celebrate with our family and friends."

Each of Amanda's bridesmaids wore a strapless navy dress paired with yellow bouquets and elegant updos.
The groom paired his classic, gray suit with an ivory tie and single rose boutonniere.
"I was never in to formal black tuxes or suits," the bride says. "I wanted the guys to look a bit more casual, so that's how we settled on charcoal suits."
