Sweeping views of the surrounding cityscape and an expansive open floor plan made The Rainbow Room an obvious choice for Sarah Lem (32 and works in sales) and Calvin Chan's (31 and an equity analyst) 200-person fête. “The venue encompassed everything we wanted, including zero view-obstructing columns,” Sarah says. “We didn’t have a specific theme—we just wanted an iconic New York City wedding." With the help of moss, potted plants and personalized popsicle sticks, a miniature herb garden was transformed into a whimsical escort card display. “I didn’t want the room to be too overwhelmed with flowers,” Sarah says of sticking to organic ivory and green arrangements. Muted gray linens and towering clusters of ranunculus and greens made for a timeless affair as partygoers dug into a decadent dinner of lobster risotto, miso cod, s’mores and a chocolate hazelnut cake.
