Grace Kelley (27 and a registered nurse) and Luke Mickelson (30 and a general manager at Premier Roofing) met at a bar on Halloween, and a few years later Luke proposed at Crystal Mill in Carbondale, Colorado. They chose Timber Ridge Lodge for its perfect mix of indoor and outdoor space, swoon-worthy mountain views and adventurous vibes from the mountain top. “Luke and I both love adventures so we wanted to create one for everyone else to share with us,” Grace says. The couple used a navy and gray color palette and accented it with wood pieces, wildflowers and branches. Although they used a more neutral color palette for the ceremony, they added pops of pink and yellow throughout the reception. Grace and Luke served ultra-local Breckenridge Bourbon as the highlight of cocktail hour. At the end of the night, the couple enjoyed a five-tier fondant-covered caramel feuilletine mousse with gianduja and frangelico devil's food cake with alternating layers were wild mountain berry chantilly with apricot marmalade and vanilla sponge cake. Yum!

“The ring was perfect, beautiful, simple, classy, shiny and wonderful,” Grace says. “It's a platinum tapered band with a gorgeous solitaire that he picked out because he liked how it glittered and how shiny it was.”
Grace loved how dainty and beautiful Lea-Ann Belter’s Scarlett dress made her feel. “I knew I'd never choose to wear this any other day, and I liked that about it,” Grace says.

“The wedding cake was absolutely incredible,” Grace says. “We had such a fun time helping Ned choose flavors and designs. He was so fun to work with! Our main cake was a caramel feuilletine mousse with gianduja and frangelico devils food cake on one layer and then alternating layers were wild mountain berry chantilly with apricot marmalade and vanilla sponge cake. It was divine!”
“Our band made our night,” Grace says. “We found this band at a blues and brews event the August before on S Pearl in Denver. I walked up to the main singer and asked her that day if she played weddings, and we started our relationship right there! Luke and I didn't want your traditional cover-wedding band because we both love music so much and wanted it to be a little more unique. Erica Brown and Dan Treanor's Afrosippi had all of our guests dancing.”
