A Classic Mint Beach Wedding at McLoone's Pier House in Long Branch, New Jersey
Elise Fleming (34 and an education specialist) and Chris Salles (37 and director of eLearning at Guitar Center) exchanged vows in the sands of the Jersey Shore with breath-taking waterfront views at McLoone's Pier House in Long Branch. The couple wanted their wedding to capture their fun-loving personalities with a light, airy, warm, beach feel without being cliche. They used a blush and mint color palette with pops of red, and lots of wood details, for their nautical, beach-with-a-twist wedding. One of the little ways Elise and Chris added a whole lot of personality was in the music. The wedding party walked into the ceremony to Elvis Presley, the bride entered to Guns ’N Roses, the newlyweds took their first steps to Journey and their first dance was to Al Green! Elise and Chris started their beach theme early with a mint and ivory fish and bubble-covered invitation suite. Although all the stationery was from Minted, it wasn’t all from the same package—they mixed and matched to make it their own. Dinner kept with the ocean theme, too, with a delicious menu including crabmeat stuffed fillet and lobster tails. Yum! For dessert, Chocolate Carousel made a gorgeous sugar seashell-decorated cake, which was topped with a custom made S from New Jersey driftwood made by Jeanette Wehner on Etsy. At the end of the night, guests went home with Fralinger's taffy. “We wanted to have wedding favors that our guests would actually enjoy and use, or, in this case, eat,” Chris says. “We had vellum bags filled with salt water taffy for all our guests. It was made on the Jersey Shore in Atlantic City, and my mom was kind enough to stuff all the taffy in 100 bags!”
