A Classic, Intimate Wedding at Sails on the Bay in Elwood, Victoria
Rod Tomlinson (38 and a data analyst) and Jane Nguyen (27 and a relationship coach) met each other wile Jane was an intern at a market research company where Rod was working. The two became quick friends as they shared common interests and beliefs with one common belief being that neither of them believed in marriage! Six months after meeting, they began dating and their romance blossomed quickly. While on vacation in Singapore, Rod proposed to an excited Jane. They decided to have their ceremony and reception at places that reflected them both as a couple. With Rod's love of nature, they decided to have their ceremony at the Blakes Feast Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, VIC. And with Jane's love of the beach, they had their reception at the waterfront venue, Sails on the Bay in Elwood, VIC. Unfortunately, with a threat of rain, they decided to movie their ceremony indoors to the Observatory at the Botanical Gardens. Their color palette was pink and white matching their "classic and elegant" theme. Adding a personal touch to their reception, they decorated the pink and white reception with framed photographs of themselves. "We had a total of six rectangular tables, which represented six years of our relationship," Jane says. "On each table we had two photos that represented our special moments or experiences in that year." Rod and Jane, who once both did not believe in marriage, created a wedding day that celebrated their journey together.
