A Classic, Intimate Wedding at a Private Residence in Lexington, Michigan

Kathleen Serafin (27) and Daniel Guzman (28) didn't have to look far to secure their dream venue on the banks of Lake Huron. "We were married on the beach and held the reception at my parents' home," Kathleen says of their mid-August nuptials in Lexington, Michigan. The alfresco celebration was adorned with clusters of roses and hydrangeas, while dozens of blush, gold and cream-colored accents gave the space an intimate yet inviting look. "I wanted it to feel simple and romantic," Kathleen says of topping round dinner tables with glass votives and bottles of homemade wine adorned with the photos from their Philadelphia engagement shoot. After sealing the deal in a beachfront ceremony under a DIY arch constructed by Kathleen's father, the newlyweds retreated indoors to indulge in smoked pork belly, lamb meatballs and a classic buttercream cake. "We walked into our reception as confetti poppers went off," Kathleen says. "It was a complete surprise and made for the best photos."
