A Classic, Greenery-Filled Wedding at The Machine Shop in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Brielle Johnson (29 and a registered nurse) and Gregory Cox (30 and an energy trader) fell for their utilitarian venue when it was still under construction. “Our vision was to bring a soft, organic elegance to the industrial, masculine space with greenery and blooms,” Brielle says. Brielle carried a bouquet of peonies, roses, ranunculus, anemones and hellebores. Fresh accents, including hanging smilax, garland runners and flax linens, warmed up the open-air space. Also part of their grand plans: fiesta-like elements, fitting for their Cinco de Mayo celebration. Incorporating blue further brought Brielle’s outdoor palette to life as seen in her bridesmaids’ gowns and muscari-topped place settings. The overall effect: “industrial chic.”
