A Classic Garden Wedding at The Venue in Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Holly Schermann (22 and works in special education) and Kevin Frigerio (25 and a CPA) met in college. They dated for about three years before Kevin popped the question. They had just adopted our 10-week-old Redbone Coonhound puppy and decided to take him for a walk in the park. “Kevin told Red to sit, and he knelt down next to him and told me to take a picture,” Holly says. “After I took it, he reached into his pocked and pulled out a ring. I was in complete shock and immediately began to tear up. He told me there was no one he would rather spend the rest of his life with and that I would always be his girl.” The couple decided to get married in Holly’s hometown and their college town. They had their ceremony in the courtyard at The Venue. “The courtyard had a beautiful fountain that I fell in love with as soon as I saw it,” Holly says. “The plants were blooming and the gated fence around it was just to die for.” Afterwards, they went into the ballroom for their reception. “The inside of The Venue for the reception had such an amazing entrance,” she says. “It was just like walking into a castle with the big wooden rounded doors with the big metal handles it fit perfectly with the theme I was going for classy but rustic.” They decorated with a navy, beige and gold color palette to a clean, classic vibe. The loose hand-tied floral arrangements gave an overgrown garden feel to the day. At the end of the night, the couple celebrated with Tractors catering, a white buttercream cake from Kathy Johnson and Little Debbie’s Be My Valentine pink heart shaped cakes.
