From garden roses and tulips, to sweet peas and orchids—this garden-inspired wedding had flower arrangements and designs in every corner. "Our wedding was inspired by my love for flowers and color," Emily Apeland (24 and a marketing specialist) says of her marriage to Preston Kelly (30 and a fan relations account executive). "I didn't choose a specific palette, but went with white bridesmaid dresses and neutral accents so the flowers would pop. I wanted to keep it classy, but add a touch of my personality." Since the theme stemmed from Emily's love for gorgeous blooms, her bridal bouquet made the largest statement, with vibrant colors and wide variety of flower types. Similar colorful flower arrangements of goldenrods, poppies, stock and lilacs decorated dining tables at reception inside Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, Oregon. Upon entering, guests selected a flower from the pick-a-flower table to wear throughout the evening. The dessert table had a spread of purple and pink sugar cookies, chocolate-covered miniature pineapple pies and, our favorite, the pink champagne cake covered in buttercream frosting with raspberry filling—decorated with fresh flowers, of course. The wedding invitations gave guests a great glimpse into the garden-inspired occasion. Cartoon versions of Emily and Preston standing over a bed of flowers accented the top of the white stationery. The same floral design accented the bottom of the page as well, with "Emily Mae & Preston Arthur" written in large black script.

"Preston and I are Mormon, so we knew we wanted to get married in the Portland LDS Temple," Emily says. "The ceremony was private with close friends and family, and the temple is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by big beautiful trees."
Since Emily's love for flowers inspired the garden theme for the wedding, her bridal bouquet had to be nothing short of gorgeous! With a wide assortment of flowers—ranging from garden roses to tulips and orchids—her colorful bouquet added a pop of color against her white lace wedding dress!
"One of the sweetest parts of the wedding was having my dog outside the temple to greet me when we exited," Emily says. "He was adorned with a sign that read 'I loved her first' and a collar with fresh flowers on it. He has been my dog for over 12 years, so he was a special part of the wedding, and guests loved him too."
Emily found the classic white wedding dress she wanted at Alta Moda in Salt Lake City, Utah. Italian lace covered the entire "Gabriella" dress designed by Theia, which had the neckline, sleeves and other details customized.
Bridesmaids wore ivory knee-length dresses with cap sleeves that matched Emily's look perfectly, while the groomsmen did the same with Preston and wore black suits with black ties.
Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro, Oregon, had a ceiling entirely draped in string lights, not to mention the "Best Day Ever" sign that hung on top of a bed of flowers.

Each bridesmaid held large pink garden roses arranged into bouquets, complementing Emily's larger bouquet filled with an assortment of colorful blooms.

The three-tier pink champagne cake with raspberry filling was covered in white buttercream frosting. The classic dessert filled with flavor had pink and orange flowers accenting the top and sides.
