A Classic Formal Wedding at Mount Vernon Country Club in Golden, Colorado

Emily Lindquist (24 and a homemaker) and Jordan Darrington (23 and works in finance) met freshman year at the University of Colorado in Boulder through mutual friends. One of the elephants at the Colorado Springs Zoo liked to paint for fun. On a trip to the zoo, the elephant was painting, and when the zookeeper turned the canvas around to show the couple, there was a sign that said, “Will you marry me?” Jordan got down on one knee and proposed. The couple wanted an intimate ceremony and exchanged vows at Jordan’s home church. Jordan’s grandfather was also the officiant, and the couple allowed other family members to be involved in the ceremony, too. Afterwards, they went to the Mount Vernon Country Club for dinner and dancing where the couple had a delicious filet mignon with Bearnaise sauce. They picked blush and silver for their color palette and made sure to stick to it with the lush floral arrangements by The Perfect Petal, the formal attire from J Crew and Men’s Wearhouse, and the place settings from Linen Hero. From the Bride: “Planning a wedding can be highly stressful and absolutely time consuming,” she says. “Make sure to go on dates and reconnect outside of the wedding to do list. If you could splurge on two things I would suggest a wedding coordinator and the photographer. Many tasks were lifted off of me once we hired our planner. My family and I got to really enjoy the wedding day. Your memories of the wedding day may get fuzzy so having great photos help to recall sweet moments.”
