A Classic, Formal Wedding at Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland

The Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland, held special memories for high school sweethearts Katie Battista (28 and student at New York University Law School) and Connor Lynagh (27 and an equity research associate) form their earlier days of dating—one reason they picked the venue for their formal wedding on New Year's Eve. "I had my prom at the Belvedere Hotel and invited Connor as my date, so this is a special place for us," Katie says. "Also, we wanted to showcase this historic Baltimore venue because we wanted our guests to get to know the city a bit." The soft blush and ivory palette created an elegant ambience through flower arrangements by Ann's Garden—from the pastel rose and ranunculus bouquets to the tall gold candelabra table centerpieces overflowing with hydrangeas and roses. The ballroom reception had purple uplighting illuminating against the white and wooden walls accented with gold, and dining tables had votive candles creating a romantic glow. We fell in love with Katie's ball gown with a skirt that ruffled elegantly down to the floor, captured on camera by Artful Weddings. "I chose this dress because I wanted something with a classic silhouette, but with movement and drama that make it fun for New Year's Eve," Katie says.
