A Classic, Flower-Filled Wedding at the Glen View Club in Golf, Illinois
In a matter of 10 months, Jennifer Ross (30 and a business owner and designer) and Ned Turney (29 and an executive recruiter) managed to pull off a romantic, 225-person wedding filled with festive autumnal details. “Fall is our favorite season, so it was important to us that our wedding day reflect that time of year,” Jennifer says. Guests sipped warm apple cider paired with doughnuts, and noshed on pumpkin ravioli with brown butter and a roasted sage sauce and individual apple pies served à la mode. It all went down at Glen View Club, the same venue where Jennifer’s parents and two older sisters previously said “I do.” “The club has seen the start of some very happy marriages in our family,” Jennifer says. Jennifer’s A-line Vera Wang gown featured delicate floral embroidery, a sash and buttons down the back. “My veil was the best part,” she says. As a sentimental surprise for her groom, Jennifer gave Ned a pocket square stitched with his late father’s initials. Ned proposed using the diamond ring his father gifted his mother nearly 35 years ago. Green letterpress invitations designed by the bride were finished with vintage stamps illustrated with apples, sail boats and images of the Great Lakes. Patterned china, figs and fresh grapes topped wood farm tables.
