A Classic Fall-Colored Wedding at the Chateaux at Fox Meadows in Broomfield, Colorado

Diana Lucero (29 and a masters student in special education) and Robby Gomez (26 and works in manufacturing) met at a mutual friend’s wedding. One day, Robby asked Diana if she would mind taking a three-hour trip to Aspen so he could show her a beautiful spot. They drove to Maroon Bells and started the hike. “A little way down the road Robby found an off-trail path that led to a creek,” Diana says. “It was there, secluded and in picturesque beauty, that he got on one knee and asked me to do him the biggest honor of being his wife. It was the most surreal moment of my life.” The couple originally planned on having their wedding at The Red Lion Restaurant in Boulder. However, a huge flood hit Colorado and the venue was destroyed. They only had five days to find another all-inclusive venue before the date they picked. “The first place I called was the Chateaux at Fox Meadows,” Diana says. “I talked to Sarah Carr, the Director of Sales, and I couldn’t even get through my first sentence without crying. She immediately comforted me, asked me what date our wedding was, what we needed and what our budget was, and then told me she would call me back once she crunched the numbers. Within three minutes she had called me back and told me not to worry anymore, that the Chateaux would give me everything that The Red Lion was offering and at the same price. She told me, ‘We’re your new venue,’ and I cried all over again, this time from relief. The Chateaux was stunning. Driving up took my breath away as we arrived to what looked like a small palace. As I walked in, I felt like I was in a fairy tale, with the spiral staircase, high ceilings and chiffon canopies draped from the chandelier. And we were still able to have our outdoor ceremony by the gazebo. Even now I can’t believe that we were so lucky to get the Chateaux at Fox Meadows as our wedding venue.” The couple, loving fall colors, decided to use shade of red, orange and yellow for their color palette. They Ivy Lane Floral to create beautiful floral arrangements and fall leaf decor. One of the best moments of the day was when Robby surprised Diana by serenading her with "Have You Ever Really Loved A Woman” by Bryan Adams during the reception. “It was so sweet and unexpected that I couldn't stop crying,” Diana says. For their wedding favors, Diana’s aunt and mother made Mexican wedding cookies and biscochitos celebrate Diana’s Mexican and New Mexican heritage, and Robby’s mother made cannoli to celebrate Robby’s Italian heritage.

“The ring is unlike any ring I have ever seen. It’s called a Journey Ring, where the diamonds on either side gradually grow as they wrap around the center diamond,” Diana says. “I thought I knew what I wanted until I saw this ring, and it instantly blew away every other one I had seen or imagined.”
Diana wore a stain and lace A-line wedding dress from David’s Bridal.
Diana’s mother made her white floral hairpieces and decorated then with beads and crystals for a classic, timeless look.
Diana carried freesias, hydrangeas, roses and baby’s breath in her bouquet.

“The ceremony was beautiful and although it threatened to rain, the weather held off throughout the entire ceremony,” Diana says. “One moment I loved during the ceremony was when I was saying my vows while putting on Robby's ring, as soon as I put it on his finger and said, ‘This is my solemn promise,’ a giant roar of thunder rang out. I like to think that was God saying he approved.”
