A Classic, Elegant Wedding at The Lotos Club in New York, New York

Honor Morgan (23 and a music teacher) and Zachary Smith (25 and a research administrator) met at their retail job. Honor was drawn to Zachary's colorful tattoos, which contrasted with his clean-cut demeanor, and the two clicked instantly. After connecting over a mutual love for cities, food and culture, it was only fitting that Zachary would treat Honor to a day of exploring Washington, DC, during the National Cherry Blossom Festival, with its magnificent art and foliage, before proposing in their walk-in closet later that night. As the only nonnegotiable factor to their wedding, the two were married at The Brick Presbyterian Church by the same pastor who married Honor's parents more than 30 years ago. Wanting a classic and elegant wedding, the couple chose to have their intimate reception at The Lotos Club, a private literary club given to the granddaughter of William H. Vanderbilt as a wedding gift. Honor enhanced the classic and elegant atmosphere with her stunning Ramona Keveza wedding dress paired with a cathedral-length veil. They chose a light color palette of white hydrangeas with accents of pink and green in the reception floral arrangements. The cocktail hour brought hors d'oeuvres accompanied by a live jazz pianist, and it ended with the newlywed's first dance to "What a Wonderful World," played on piano by Mark Berman. After a sit-down four-course dinner, the guests still found room to enjoy the wedding cake and creme brulee with fresh raspberries. "With a day that was rich with music, good food and love, we were able to spend the day with those that we love, from near and far," says Honor.
