A Classic, Elegant Wedding at the Ivory Room in Columbus, Ohio
Julianne Strauss (28 and a senior production coordinator) and Scott Brownlee (29 and a visual merchandise coordinator) wanted their classic wedding to have a stunning style without being too over-the-top, and found the perfect balance using neutrals and metallics to decorate the day. The space inside the Ivory Room had elegant chandeliers and hardwood floors that won Julianna and Scott over almost instantly, plus large windows that revealed a wonderful view of downtown Columbus, Ohio. The wedding party embodied the palette and classic style of the day wonderfully—from the neutral-colored bridesmaid dresses with metallic lace overlays to the groomsmen dressed in black formal suits with bow ties to match. At the reception, ivory escort cards done in calligraphy pointed guests in the direction of their assigned seats, matching the table numbers with the same style (plus some metallic swirled patterns). Rose and dahlia arrangements done by Flowers on Orchard decorated the middle of dining tables, creating a romantic vibe through ivory and blush blooms. Of all the elegant details that made up this classic wedding, we really fell in love with Julianne's gorgeous wedding dress—a Reem Acra ivory gown with pearls and crystals accenting the bodice, along with a gorgeous skirt layered in ruffles—captured on camera by Derk's Works. A tip from Julianne: "My friend told me when everyone is enjoying themselves, to take a step back with my husband and look around the room at what we created. The memory is still with me to this day."
