A Classic Church Wedding at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas
Amber Dawn Armstrong (22 and a student) and Patrick Kenworthy (22 and a student) met the day after Amber arrived at the University of Oklahoma as a sophomore year transfer student. The two bonded as friends playing ping pong in the evenings, and by the end of the school year, they were a couple. They were married at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. “We were initially drawn to that location because of the beautiful chapel and were so happy that we chose Prestonwood,” says the bride. She and Patrick were married by Amber’s grandfather, and the ceremony music was performed by Patrick’s sister and sister-in-law. Amber wore the first wedding dress she tried on: “I felt great in it and needed to look no further,” she says. For their wedding decor, “we just picked what we liked and it all worked out,” says Amber. The bride’s aunt helped her create all of the floral arrangements and reception decorations, and her cousin lent vintage books for the centerpieces. Another aunt of the bride’s found teacups to add to the books as a nod to Amber’s love of literature and drinking tea. “We were so blessed by our friends and family,” says Amber. “The outpouring of love, help and support was the best part of our wedding celebration.”
